As a Direct Support Specialist, you will be a member of a team who helps provide essential services to Minnesota’s most vulnerable residents. On a day-to-day basis, you will: • Assist individuals when needed in the performance of work, recreation, and activities of daily living • Lift, move, or position non-ambulatory or ambulatory individuals • Administer medications, implement instructions, and act accordingly as directed • Respond to medical emergencies, including first aid and CPR • Transport and accompany individuals to medical appointments, community outings, recreational activities, and spiritual events • Respond therapeutically to individuals with challenging behaviors Site: Maplewood Town: Randall, MN Rural/Urban Setting: Rural EASE Level: 3 Staffing Level: One individual 1:1 staffing 12 hours daily. Remaining shared 2:4, 24-hour awake Age Range: 57 - 70 years Diagnoses: Cerebral Palsy, severe Intellectual Disabilities, insomnia, Impulse Control Disorder Unspecified, blind and deaf. *Site descriptions are subject to change at any time as individuals residing in the home or their level of care required may change.

PLEASE NOTE: Any time an employee bids, voluntarily transfers, or voluntarily demotes to fill a vacancy in an existing MSOCS, any previously approved vacation may be rescinded if any employee already working in the MSOCS has approved leave for any of the days.
