The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our Community Based Services Vocational team within the Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) Division of the agency. This position is located in Vadnais Heights, MN. The Regional Rehabilitation Supervisor will oversee and enhance employment and day support services within the Medicaid waiver system, focusing on supporting individuals with complex behavioral challenges and varying disabilities. This role will involve monitoring changes in employment and day support services and adapting processes and training to ensure compliance and effectiveness. The Supervisor will cultivate partnerships with local branches and stakeholders across all vocational sites, requiring regular travel to various programs statewide. Key responsibilities include acting as an agency representative to other state agencies, developing and facilitating community of practice meetings and regional training sessions as directed by leadership, and creating and updating training curricula in response to evolving employment and support service needs. Additionally, the Supervisor will chair quarterly vocational coordinator training sessions and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Vocational Rehabilitation Services. The role also includes guiding programs in navigating multiple funding streams while delivering quality community services. This job will entail leading and mentoring a group of regional quality improvement staff. MSOCS Vocational Programs provide community based services, which includes employment development, employment supports (job coaching) and day support services (community integration). Our employees provide support to individuals receiving services out in their local communities, rather than services being provided on-site, all day. All employees are provided training in job coaching, and individualized trainings based upon the individuals’ needs. MSOCS Vocational Programs are located in the following communities: Willmar, Baxter, Cambridge, Golden Valley, Eden Prairie, Bloomington, Faribault, Mankato/St. Peter, Owatonna, Roseville, Coon Rapids, Cloquet, Duluth and Virginia.
Demonstrate leadership experience* Leadership experience can include: - Experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead; - Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g. ELI, L4); - A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee (e.g. ERG) - experience must include: - 1+ year of experience identifying issues, goals and strategic actions - 100+ hours per year time commitment AND 3 years of work experience in the vocational service field/Oversight of quality of employment and day support services. AND - Experience with licensing regulations, CARF Standards and community integration philosophies.
