The job coach assists individuals with cognitive/intellectual disabilities or related conditions in obtaining employment, teaching them their job and then provide on-going coaching while they work. Job Coaches also assist individuals in the community and at the program site to increase and develop skills through volunteer work and community activities. Implementation of services will be in both the community and at the program site. The job coach also acts as a liaison between local businesses (employers) and program participants. This position also assists the program to meet Department of Labor, MN State licensing and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards. Responsibilities include: • Teaching and coaching program participants’ job and independent living skills, and on-going job support. • Act as a liaison between businesses for program and community based opportunities for program participants. • Document supported person’s activities, progress and care by recording, summarizing and maintaining data in standard forms and reports. • Participate in daily operations of the site to meet licensure, legal and applicable accreditation requirements and to adhere to established CBS/MSOCS policies and procedures. MSOCS Vocational Programs provide community based services, which includes employment development, employment supports (job coaching) and day support services (community integration). Our employees provide support to individuals receiving services out in their local communities, rather than services being provided on-site, all day. All employees are provided training in job coaching, and individualized trainings based upon the individuals’ needs. MSOCS Vocational Programs are located in the following communities: Willmar, Baxter, Cambridge, Golden Valley, Eden Prairie, Bloomington, Faribault, Mankato/St. Peter, Owatonna, Roseville, Coon Rapids, Cloquet, Duluth and Virginia.

Available upon request from the local Human Resources Office.

PLEASE NOTE: Any time an employee bids, voluntarily transfers, or voluntarily demotes to fill a vacancy in an existing MSOCS, any previously approved vacation may be rescinded if any employee already working in the MSOCS has approved leave for any of the days.
